
It’s summertime in Tuscaloosa! School’s out, the weather’s warm, and there’s a lot happening downtown in the weeks ahead. In the middle of town, the city’s summer concert series has returned, so take a look at what to expect at Live at the Plaza.
Outdoor Entertainment in Tuscaloosa
The whole family is welcome to Live at the Plaza, even your pets, as there will be entertainment for everyone. These events are free to the public, and there will be vendors and food trucks set up at the plaza to provide a delicious dinner with your show. You can even invite your friends to make a whole picnic out of it and bring folding chairs or a comfortable blanket. If the kids want to get up and play during the concert, they’ll love the onsite Kid Zone complete with games and outdoor activity.
Who’s Playing at the Plaza?
Each Friday this summer, two acts will take the stage in the Tuscaloosa at Government Plaza. Get there while the sun is still up to watch the opener go on, then stick around for the second act to follow as the light sinks low over the downtown rooflines. The first act will typically go on at 6 p.m. and play for just under an hour, and the second act will go on at 7 p.m. Keep in mind that the weather might affect certain showtimes. Make Your Plans
The show will go on at the at Government Plaza in downtown Tuscaloosa every Friday Night from now until July 28. The show starts at 6 p.m. and should wrap up at 9 p.m. each weekend. Be sure to get there early, as parking spaces can fill up quickly. You can find some street parking near the plaza on 7th street, and there’s also the free parking deck at the Intermodal Facility.
