Along with Deontay Wilder, the event will honor the late Joe Louis and the late Petey Sarron. Eddie Surratt will be honored in the manager/trainer/promoter category, and Billy Martin will enter the hall of fame for his role in the support personnel category.

The event will also honor Dr. Ted Cox. He was the 2016 Master Boxer of the Year.

About Deontay Wilder

It’s no wonder why Deontay Wilder is getting inducted into the Alabama Boxing Hall of Fame. As the recipient of the United States’ only boxing medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Wilder created a name for himself as a powerful force in the ring. He will defend his title against Bermane Stiverne in the near future. Expect to see an intense fight when he comes out to defend the title.
