Urban Cookhouse restaurant expanding to Tuscaloosa
Urban Cookhouse, a fast-casual restaurant concept that began in Homewood in 2010, will open its first Tuscaloosa location later this year in the Village at Northbank development off Rice Mine Road. Their motto is “Buy local, eat urban.” With an emphasis on wood-grilled meats, local produce and homemade vinaigrettes, their goal is to serve quality, well-prepared food in a warm, friendly environment.

Holler & Dash Biscuit House
Holler & Dash Biscuit House, the Southern-inspired breakfast and lunch restaurant developed by the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store chain, opened its second location late this summer in Tuscaloosa. Holler & Dash launched its brand and opened its first restaurant this past March in Homewood, AL. The Tuscaloosa location is at 1130 University Blvd., near the University of Alabama campus. Hours will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Holler & Dash’s Southern-inspired menu features a selection of made-from-scratch biscuit sandwiches, which are topped and loaded with everything from fried chicken and pimento cheese to bacon, guacamole and fried green tomatoes.
