It is time for the 2nd Annual Dirt, Sweat, and Gears. Get your mountain bike ready and your trail- running shoes laced for this heart-pumping challenge. If you attended last year, this is your chance to beat last year’s record!
The 2nd Annual Dirt, Sweat, and Gears Duathlon will be held at Lake Lurleen State Park in Coker, Al. The race will begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. on June 24th. Registration for this event is $45 for individuals and $80 for teams if you register before race day. Those wanting to register the day of the race, the price will be $55 for individuals and $90 for teams. This event is a trail duathlon. There will be a mandatory pre-race meeting at 7:00 a.m. that all participants must attend.

Racers will set off in waves and the start point is near the South Trailhead and Pavilion one. You will have two exciting fast laps around Ridge Loop and on to the Tashka Trail and then back to the Start/Finish line. Once you make your way across the Start/Finish line, you will enter the transition area to begin the 5K trail run. The trail run portion will be the only part of the race with an Aid Station. This will be at the turn around point of the 5K. Some of the area’s top athletes will be competing while supporting local schools through the DCH Sports Medicine programs.
