You’ve heard it all your life: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Some mornings, oatmeal from a packet or a piece of fruit just won’t cut it. Those days call for a big, bold, bacon-and-eggs-style breakfast that you can only get from an eatery that takes the morning meal seriously. Lucky for Tuscaloosa residents, there are plenty of local spots that serve just what you need to fortify your whole day. You probably already have a few favorites of your own, but here are several of ours. Check them out and you might want to add a couple to your regular rotation.
Located at 1800 McFarland Boulevard East #404 in Tuscaloosa, Metro Diner serves up hot and hearty breakfast fare for big appetites. One of their most popular dishes is the Fried Chicken & Waffle, which is topped with strawberry butter and served with a sweet and spicy sauce. Breakfast Pie is another favorite, featuring delectable layers of eggs, cheese, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and potatoes. There are “Griddle Greats” like the Cinnamon Roll Pancake and Croissant French Toast, as well as classic breakfast sandwiches and eggs any way you could want them. Says one rave Yelp review: “This isn’t just food, it’s delicious art for your mouth! I’m SUPER impressed by the quality of the food, the friendly professional service, and the value of what you get for your hard-earned money!”
